Safeway Driving School has provided quality driver’s education in Minnesota for over 50 years. As the largest driving school in Minnesota, we provide classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons for teens at locations throughout the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area. Our goal is to educate our students to become safe and skillful drivers. The teens you teach will be the people we all share the roads with, and your impact on them keeps our communities and streets a safer place.
As a Classroom Instructor, you will be leading a group of students and teaching them as they learn the foundational knowledge of being a licensed driver. We have a complete curriculum with study guides, presentation material, videos, and other tools to engage and educate the students. But ultimately, it is the Classroom Instructor who sets the right tone and who captures the attention and imagination of the students.
Safeway provides both paid training and instructor licensing with the State of Minnesota. Get your instructor license with the help of our study tools and trained staff. We provide training in professional development, teaching techniques, and classroom management. Great job for school bus drivers, truck drivers, people who are tired of driving for Uber or Lyft, coaches, mentors, teachers, and anyone who wants to make an impact in a student’s life!
A day in the Life of a Classroom Driving Instructor:
As a Classroom Instructor, you will demonstrate professionalism, honesty, courtesy, integrity, and good judgment at all times. Your day will start by checking your Safeway provided iPad and verifying your schedule. You will drive over and arrive promptly before class starts at either a Safeway classroom or a classroom at one of our community education partner locations. You will set up Safeway provided teaching equipment and dispense prepared curriculum for the students. Once class begins you will professionally manage and lead a classroom of no more than 30 students for 3 hours, following state guidelines and Safeway policies. At the end of class, you will perform general administrative tasks, pack up your equipment, and end your workday at your home by logging your hours into your iPad.
